THE PHOENIX
A Symbol Of Rebirth, Divinity, And Life

The Phoenix is a mythical sacred firebird. This bird, with beautiful gold and red plumage, dies every 500 - 1000 years. Just before it's life ends, it builds a nest of cinnamon twigs and then sets itself on fire. Both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes. From the ashes, a new, young Phoenix arises. The new Phoenix places the ashes of the old Phoenix in an egg made of myrrh and deposits it in the

THE PHOENIX
Inspires A Music School

In 1987, Kirsten Weymar started the Phoenix Feather Academy of Music when a music school in El Toro went out of business, leaving many South-County families without a place to go for music classes. She found the perfect location and worked night and day to be able to accommodate as many of the deserted families as possible. In a way, the Phoenix Feather Academy "rose from the ashes" to become what it is today!
